It refers to a classic design tradition originating in the late 18th century, characterized by repeated, highly detailed pastoral, historical, or mythological scenes printed on a solid background.

What kind of fabric is toile?

Historically, toile was printed on linen or cotton. However, our modern event-grade French Toile is crafted from 100% premium polyester. This upgrade ensures the fabric is highly durable, stain-resistant, wrinkle-resistant, and capable of withstanding the rigorous demands of commercial laundering and repeated event use.

What pattern compliments French toile?

Because French Toile is a busy, intricate pattern, it pairs beautifully with simpler geometric prints like ticking stripes, gingham, or subtle plaids. For a clean and modern aesthetic, it is best complemented by solid-colored linens that pull from the secondary shade of the print (such as solid black, navy, or crisp white).

How to care for French toile fabric?

Our polyester French Toile tablecloths are designed for easy maintenance. They are fully machine washable in cold or warm water with standard detergent. Tumble dry on low heat and remove promptly to minimize wrinkling. Do not use bleach, as it can fade the rich printed scenes over time. If needed, cool iron on the reverse side.

Specifications

Color: Burgundy French Toile

Material: Polyester

Size: 90 x132 Rectangular Tablecloth

Care Instruction: Machine Washable & Dryable.
